Natural Medicine  - Please read the Disclaimer

This website was prompted by the medical profession’s vicious attack on Prince Charles after he advocated the integration of Complementary Therapies with science-based medicine within the NHS (2000). Their objection that these therapies are not evidence-based and potentially dangerous has led to the withdrawal of funding for them (see controversy). Even acupuncture, which was on offer in NHS pain clinics, is no longer available.

I realised that pharmaceutical drugs were the cause of my chronic illnesses in 1988 and stopped taking these allopathic drugs except when absolutely necessary for a short time, e.g. when abscessed tooth was extracted.  I had to find other ways of maintaining my health and am fitter now aged 75 in 2020 than I was 32 years ago.  After my husband was fitted with a pacemaker when aged 78, we took him off all medication in 2018. He started to recover from multiple medical conditions, including varicose vein bleeds, severe oedema of the lower body from waist down, legs oozing honey-like fluids below the knees, eczema, ulcers, body wide rashes, etc. His prostate cancer and lymphoma of the bone marrow are stable and are only being monitored.  Even at age 80, the body is still showing evidence of its capacity to recover.

Unfortunately he was diagnosed with osteopenia in late 2019 which had caused spontaneous fractures of the spine and hip and collapse of a spinal disc causing a lot of pain. These were some of the side-effects of medication he had been on.  We tried morphine-based pain killers but took him off it when it caused double incontinence, excessive sleepiness and dizziness which were disastrous for a totally blind person.  He fell in January 2020 and was in hospital for 2 weeks with a further fracture to the hip and was sent home with anaesthetic patches (since we refused morphine).  Two days after he had acupuncture, we were able to stop ALL medication including the pain killers and laxatives. He has been pain free since then. He was offered various aids, including a wheelchair at the start of 2020 since he could hardly stand.  But, by the end of 2020 he is able to go for walks and little runs with his tri-rollator and do stretching exercises without support.

Yet, the medical profession are unwilling to recognise personal testimony which is dismissed as anecdotal; even consultants are disciplined and suspended by the General Medical Council (GMC) for speaking the truth. However, many charities for life-threatening diseases, such as cancer, now offer some complementary therapies.

This site provides anecdotal records of home cures and therapies which have worked/failed for me and people whom I know personally.  It is a useful resource for us in case we forget what we did as we age.  I also note some of the triggers which I believe caused those ailments and illnesses; and, present other debatable ideas.

Very few complementary therapies are now available through the NHS.  The NHS Trust Association has compiled a Directory of Practitioners for use by the medical profession and if you are unable to gain access to a therapist, try this page - http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/complementary-alternative-medicine/Pages/complementary-alternative-medicines.aspx

Open-minded scientists often draw on systematic records kept by others.  I hope that our records will find wider use in the research of others.
